Following the government’s decision to introduce compulsory microchipping for all dogs from April 2016 (and March 2015 in Wales) – something that Dogs Trust have been campaigning for for many years – Dogs Trust are now offering FREE MICROCHIPPING at any of their 19 rehoming centres around the country, or at their special micrchipping events being organised throughout the the UK.

To book an appointment for your dog, call your nearest Dogs Trust rehoming centre.

Clarissa Baldwin, Chief Executive of Dogs Trust explains the importance of the microchip:

“The reality is that no matter how responsible an owner you are there is always a chance your dog could get lost or stolen; microchipping is the most effective way to help a lost dog to be returned to their owner.

Sadly, once a dog without a chip ends up at a pound, the pound’s staff have no way of knowing whether that dog is is a much loved family pet or an abandoned stray. After their seven statutory day period, anything could happen to him.”
