There’s a lot of talk going on right now about recent proposals put forward in an attempt to tackle the issue of dangerous dogs, such as:
- compulsory micro chipping
- third party liability insurance
- doggy “asbos”
- …and the repeal or strengthening of Section One of the Dangerous Dogs Act.
These changes could have a huge impact for many dog’s in the UK, either for the worse or the better depending on the outcome, and we recommend that everyone familiarises themselves with the information and if possible take part in the public consultation.
We’ve been stuck for time here at SaveTheStrays and haven’t had chance to put together much information on this, so we suggest visiting the experts over at DDAWatch. DDAWatch are appealing to all owners to take the time to participate in the consultation, which runs until June 2010.
